Forecasters Discussion for 4/17/2016

4/17/2016

Comments

Good evening to you from Southern Connecticut Weather!

Generally calm and quiet weather has been the rule of thumb the past few days, and it looks like for the most part that will continue throughout the upcoming period, as a strong area of high pressure remains parked over the area.

Monday:

Our first summer feeling day of the year will arrive tomorrow, with highs making it up into the mid 70s across the state. There shouldn’t be a cloud in the sky tomorrow, so the strong sunshine will make it feel much warmer than any day we’ve had so far this spring. Enjoy it!

Tuesday:

Some showers are possible as a clipper system passes to our north, otherwise, we’ll see partly cloudy skies and more seasonable temperatures, with highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday-Thursday:

Full sunshine is likely on both days, with near normal temperatures on Wednesday in the mid to upper 50s and above normal temperatures on Thursday with highs in the upper 60s.

Friday-Saturday:

Unsettled weather develops towards the end of the period, as a cold front moves into the area on Friday and brings a round of showers to the state. Some guidance shows rain persisting into Saturday as an secondary wave develops and brings another dose of precipitation over the state, but considering the unpredictable nature of the development of these followup systems, will hold off on any more than a chance of precipitation for Saturday and will leave to the next forecaster to refine more detailed timing.

Sunday:

Wednesday: Sunny, with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

The next forecast will be issued on Tuesday evening, until then, have a great start to your week and thank you for reading SCW!
